The Director of Field Operations is responsible for the overall management and oversight of all details related to the playing facilities utilized by Nebraska Senior Softball (NSS).
- Establishing and maintaining a close relationship with the host Park and Recreation department.
- Assisting the Commissioner with contractual negotiations and fees regarding the use of the host fields or complex.
- Ensuring Park and Recreation maintenance personnel prepare and mark fields in accordance with ASA and NSS rules prior to each evening’s scheduled games.
- Immediately reporting field or facility problems to the supervisor of the Park and Recreation department and following up to ensure timely solutions. This includes issues related to field preparation (grass, lights, electricity, field markings), toilet facilities, water fountains, concession stand, unsafe conditions, damage to any structure, etc.
The Director of Field Operations partners closely with the NSS Director of Marketing, Publicity, and Communications to ensure special events are coordinated with the city Park and Recreation department and that any special requests are accommodated, if appropriate.
This individual assists the NSS Director of Player Personnel with pre-season practices and new player ability testing to ensure compliance with league policies and procedures.
