I hope you’ll feel a need to get involved and assist in the sustained success and future growth of our organization.

CALL FOR 2014 NSS MANAGERS!
January 29th, 2014 – The 15th consecutive season of Nebraska Senior Softball will be here soon and
this year marks a draft of players to new teams. The board is forecasting 14 to 17 teams and it’s imperative that we obtain managers for each of these squads.
Will you be adding your name to the list of people helping NSS fulfill its primary goals of fun, fitness, and fellowship? Will you take that next step and submit your name for consideration as a team manager in 2014? We need both returning and new managers to help us plan for the 2014 season.
Manager responsibilities are posted on the NSS website under ‘Manager Information’. In short, key duties include overall roster and game time control, effective communication to team members and the NSS board, knowledge of rules, policies, and guidelines, and a strong supporter of the foundational elements of our league.
Submitting your intent does not guarantee a managerial position. All candidates will be reviewed by the NSS Board of Directors prior to approval.
Please respond as soon as possible in order to facilitate the start of the 2014 Season by clicking this link and completing the online intent form. It will take about 30 seconds.
November 12th, 2013 – Stay in shape! Play some basketball. Every Sunday afternoon during the off season, a group of players get together at Fletch’s Court in Omaha (near 84th and Blondo) between 1:30 and 3:30 p.m. This fun and semi-competitive activity rotates players in and out of the game to keep the legs moving and blood pumping during the cold months until we can swing a bat again.
No reservation required. Show up with your gym shoes and join us! Contact Ron Franck for more information.
Jamus Hovseth, grandson of NSS player Larry Hovseth, is battling an extremely rare disease. He is one of only FOUR children in the entire U.S. that is unable to digest any type of food. On Friday, November 15th, a special benefit will be held at Eagle Hills Golf Course in Papillion from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a taco buffet donated by La Mesa restaurant. Proceeds from this fundraiser will be used toward finding remaining safe formula for Jamus. Click the notice shown to the left for additional details to include how you can contribute to this heartbreaking cause in one of several ways.
