Andy Johnson Courage Award

The Andy Johnson Courage Award is a very selective award. It is not an award that is automatically presented every year. This award is to be given to a player that shows a tremendous amount of courage to keep playing softball while dealing with extremely formidable circumstances. These can include a medical situation, unforeseen life trauma, or anything that would cause most people to hang up all the softball gear for good.

Andy Johnson played in the Nebraska Senior Softball league for several years. Andy battled brain cancer and continued to play softball as long as he could. Anyone that was around Andy, especially when he was facing a life-ending medical situation, knows what a great guy he was, and what a true inspiration he was. He is still missed.

Anyone that receives the Andy Johnson Courage Award should be very proud to receive it. With his name on it, it portrays the ultimate amount of courage and respect.
