Draft Night Tools

There are a couple of new pages to help board and managers prepare for and conduct the draft:

1. Prepare to Draft

This is a page that shows registration information about who is still left in the draft. It lists players in the order of the most recent complete draft. This page will be available to you if you bring a laptop or tablet on draft night. I know you’ve all got spreadsheets and such; but, I though it might be helpful to have the latest info available on-line. It might also be helpful as you prepare for draft night. Click on this link to see the page with mocked up data.

2. Conduct the Draft

A page to conduct the draft in real-time. (See screen shots below.) This page will be displayed on the big screen on draft night for all to see. It will show draft context and summarize who has and hasn’t been drafted. Draft context as in: where we are in the draft by round and overall, who is on the clock, who is on deck. And it will help assign players to the selecting teams.
NOTE: Simulated draft team order: Yankees, Braves, Giants.

Once again thanks for working on the web site and making it understandable and somewhat easier to use for those of us who are computer illiterates. Looking forward to the draft and upcoming season.

Would the “last draft” round/number show the spring/summer draft if the player did not play fall ball? There are quite a few players who did not/do not play in the fall. In fact, there may be some who sat out the entire year who come back … how far back could the draft info go, if incorporated?

Will the managers use their tablets/laptops to select, or will someone make the entry as the manager states his selection?

The “last draft” column points to the last summer season where a complete draft was conducted. For guys that joined the league after a complete draft, the player personnel director will manually assign them a round as if they were there for the last complete redraft. This helps keep all comparison based on the same draft. These comparisons feed into the replacement process and the redraft process.

A single person (with very high privileges) will be conducting the draft and entering picks for everyone.
