The Nebraska Senior Softball League was started with the primary goal to promote softball and improve the physical, mental and spiritual wellness of seniors in Omaha and surrounding communities who enjoy Fun, Fitness and Fellowship. The league is open to everyone above the age of 50 years and provides an excellent avenue for exercising and friendly competition. Summer league games will be played starting May 2 through July 27 on Monday and Wednesday evenings at the La Vista Sports Complex at 66th & Harrison. Our Fall league games will also be played on Monday and Wednesday evenings from August 15 through October 19.
For the more energetic and skilled players who want to extend their playing beyond the friendly confines of the Senior League, there are five age group select tournament teams, 50+, 55+, 60+, 65+, and 70+, who compete in local, state, regional, and national tournaments.
This season, we have thirteen senior league teams and are hoping to expand to fourteen or more teams in 2012. So, if you turn 50 anytime during the current year, or if you have already passed that milestone, you can join the league right now!
